Management workshop

A 'Management workshop' on 'Accreditation' was conducted by 2nd year MSc Nursing students, on 17/09/2022, for Nursing Officers in the GFATM Hall of Govt. College of Nursing, Kottayam which was coordinated by Prof. Thankamani V K and Dr Sindhu Kizhakkepatt.


'Say No to Drugs'

Govt College of Nursing, Kottayam NSS unit and NERKKOOOTTAM club in association with Excise Vimukthi Mission, Kottayam organised an awareness program against Drug abuse named 'Say No to Drugs' on 11/7/2022 . Welcome speech was offered by Mr. Ajeesh P. Mani, Coordinator, Drug free campus initiative GCNK . Dr Usha V K, Principal GCNK delivered presidential address. Mr. M N Siva Prasad, Deputy Excise Commissioner inaugurated the function and had given topic orientation. Mr. Benny Sebastian , Civil Excise Officer took class against Drug abuse.

Graduation ceremony of 34th & 35th batch B.Sc Nursing students & Farewell to 18th & 19th batch GNM students was inaugurated by Mr.P.B. Nooh IAS, CEO, Life Mission, Kerala on 25.06.2022.

International Yoga Day: 2021

As a part of international yoga day 2021, NSS unit of Government College of Nursing, Kottayam have organized a ten days yoga session for whole students (BSc, MSc, Post basic and General Nursing, total 384 students ) of our college from 11/06/2021 to 20/06/2021, 5pm to 6pm. The students participated actively.








Apex Trauma and emergency care learning centre

Apex Trauma and emergency care learning centre under DME, Government of Kerala, conducted training on Nursing Essentials for the student nurses and faculty with 30-35 participants per session . Total 271 participants which include 252students and 19 faculty members received training from 12.04.2021 – 23.04.2021.

The course was designed to augment and complement the academic learning that they receive during their basic education and practicing in a simulated scenario to help them to bridge the gaps in learning especially in this era of covid pandemic.
The programme was inaugurated on 12.04.2021 by Dr.Latha.R. Former JDNE.

Dr.Usha V.K., Principal presided over the function. Dr.Sreedevi T.R., Vice Principal and Co;Devasia, Project head of ATELC facilitated the occasion.

The scond phase of the program was Workshop on Emergency Nursing which was conducted from 24th May to 9th July 2021 in which the students and faculty attended the 3 days sessions using online platform.
